Last weekend Girls in Gis kicked of the Girls in Gis Volunteer Sponsorship Program at the Matshark Texas State Championships. The Girls in Gis Volunteer Sponsorship Program is designed to benefit women and girls in the sport by providing opportunities for them to earn sponsorship funds to go toward tournament fees. Thanks to Matshark Tournaments, Rafael Perez, Lana Hunter, Ariadne Burkhart, Monica Carrizall, Felicia Bannister, Tessa Simpson, Nedina Villarreal-Gutierrez and Jeane Ruiz we were able to raise $500 in profit. All of which directly benefited those who had volunteered. Girls earned on average between $70-100!
We would also like to thank Matshark tournaments for the tremendous amount of support you give women in BJJ by offering discounts to GIG members and donating a booth. We would also like to thank the BJJ community in Texas for all of the support and contributions to GIG. We could not do what we do without all of you!
