Guest Instructors: Heather Raftery & Brenda Soto
Heather Raftery is an Atos BJJ black belt under Andre Galvao. She is a multiple-time No-Gi and Gi World medalist, a Master Worlds silver medalist, and ADCC North American trials medalist. She enjoys traveling the world, making ceramics, cat memes, and heel hooking white belts.
In 2007, Prof. Soto started training jiu jitsu and noticed that the BJJ community needed to be more welcoming to women wanting to train. When she and her husband opened their academy in 2010 Prof. Soto started the first women’s only BJJ program in the state of Arizona. As her program grew, other academies become inspired to do the same and offer a safe environment for women to start training.
Prof. Soto’s desire to serve her community better, led her to achieve her certification in Rapid Transformational Therapy (a hypnosis lead therapy). Prof. Soto now works with individuals, athletes, and companies of all sizes to achieve personal development and success. You can find Prof. Soto on the mats 6 days per week, helping and guiding her students to achieve their goals. She also holds an impressive competitive history for herself.
This event is open to women and girls of all ages and skill levels. No experience is needed. All participants must register online.
